QUINN-healthcare Response to Government Health Insurance Strategy
QUINN-healthcare said that while it would take some time to digest the details of the Government’s announcement today of a new strategy for the health insurance market, it was hopeful that the Government’s approach would ensure greater transparency, equity and competition in the market. General Manager, Dónal Clancy said: "From what we have heard today, the Minister’s intention is to resolve the dominant and monopolistic position of the VHI, and this can only strengthen competition in the Irish market. We welcome the Minister’s assurances that there will be meaningful consultation with all stakeholders in the industry, and we will be working for our customers to deliver a sustainable, fair and healthy market."
Mr Clancy added: “Our continued focus is on offering excellent, quality healthcare products at competitive prices to Irish consumers, and we are hopeful that the Government’s proposed strategy will support that approach.”
